Bus-ted Shutter began with a simple belief: the world is impossibly beautiful, and it's worth chasing that beauty down and capturing it. Add a Volkswagen camper van, an open road, and the right light — and the world just feels right.
Today I chase wide-open landscapes and the wildlife that roams them — the kind of photograph that feels like a place instead of just documenting one. Every frame is made on location, in real light, most of it within a tank of gas of home base here in Wyoming.
That home base is part of the point. The West rewards patience: a storm moving off the range, a fox crossing fresh snow, a few quiet minutes when the lake goes still. The camera comes out when the light earns it.

The Volkswagen camper is part transport, part lookout, part darkroom waiting room. It gets me close enough to stay for the last light and far enough away to notice what I would have missed at home.
Most of the work starts with a route and ends with a frame that feels like a place. The images are quiet on purpose: room for the weather, the distance, and your own memory of being there.
